Places I Love

This week's theme over at I Heart Faces is Favorite Place.
Growing up in the city, I always longed for a yard to dig my hands into. When I bought this, my first, house I saw what potential the mostly-dirt-and-weeds backyard had. I envisioned an arbor covered in jasmine, flanked by crepe myrtles. I saw flower gardens and vegetable gardens that I would spend time in with my (then future) daughter. It was there that I turned my attention, frustration and spare time during the long wait for her arrival. Along with the crepes, I planted a Satsuma, bamboo, elephant ears, honeysuckle and roses. After five years, it has started to have the look of a mature yard. Nowadays, I love being out there, watching Isabel explore and dig in the dirt. I look forward to this spring when, at last, we will plant our first vegetable garden together. While it is not the traditional romantic place, it is in fact where I love to spend time being with the person I love most in this world... my daughter.

Aw, I've always longed for a backyard where my son can run around and play too. How wonderful for you that you've been able to fulfill that particular dream.
It looks like a wonderful place to play and relax.
